My First Anime

Currently watching Gatchaman. My amazing wife got me the boxset for last Christmas. When this aired in America back in the 70's, it went by the name Battle of The Planets presented by Sandy Frank. Yes. THAT Sandy Frank. Mst3k fans will recognize that name as the “producer” of Time Of The Apes and Fugitive Alien. It was my first anime as a kid.

It was the first anime I was obsessed over. I would draw them and discuss episodes with my best friend in 1st grade.

This box set has given me the chance to watch the entire series in full without the Sandy Frank re-edits. Holy crap. This series is better than I remember. This boxset is a loving collection of the series, OAV, and a film. The dub and sub are worth watching. If you can find it, watch it!
